About Niki

Hi! I’m Miss Bloom, and I’m a professional sex and relationship educator, writer, and coach.

I provide expert guidance on sexuality, intimacy, and romantic relationships.

I’m a Canadian-born, New York-based human who’s studied sexuality and worked in the field for the last 10 years.

I’ve facilitated more than 500 Sex Education Workshops, at various venues including the United Nations, Planned Parenthood, and New York University.

My writing on sexual health and wellness has been published in Cosmopolitan, The Insider, Bumble, PornHub Sexual Wellness Center, and Mind Body Green. Plus, I’ve been featured on numerous podcasts and educational videos for Refinery29, Intellectual Erection, and Passion with Dr. Laurie. And, I’m currently working on a book focused on Demystifying Fetishes.

After completing my Master’s Degree in Psychology with a focus on Sexual Dysfunction, I started working at Mount Sinai Hospital as a Sexual Assault Preventionist/Educator.  There, I fell in love with educating people and helping them process their trauma and working towards more pleasurable sex. So, I decided to go freelance. Now, I coach individuals and couples to improve their sex lives and experience deeper intimacy and pleasure.

I’ve been around…

In my quest to learn how different cultures view and engage in sex, I’ve traveled to Oman, Crimea, and Iceland—asking the locals about their sex lives and relationships. I talk to my grandma about sex.  I talk to my bus drivers about sex, and in Brooklyn, they definitely talk back! I’ve learned everyone has a unique perspective. In each conversation, I’ve discovered a little bit more. Understanding the person’s history and experiences gives me insight into where they are now and more importantly, what may be holding them back.

I’ve studied the Psychology of Sexual Dysfunction- earning my BA from Ryerson University and my Master's Degree from New York University.  Then, I continued my sexual education at The Kinsey Institute and Guelph University, studying sex therapy and staying up to date with current research on sexuality and relationships.

I’ve given my expert opinion about sexuality, relationships, and pleasure at New York University, the Center for Sexual Pleasure and Health, the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality,  The Brooklyn Sex Expo, the Guelph Sexuality Conference, Planned Parenthood, the United Nations, and the National Sex Ed Conference.

Through my coaching, I’ve helped someone with a balloon fetish disclose his desires to his wife, guided a client to their first orgasm, and helped couples discover their kinks and dip their toes into polyamory.

My story.

My dad is a judge and my mom is an artist.  Needless to say, I have a unique ability to think critically and creatively to solve problems.

I love Star Trek and I’ve been known to hustle a game of pool. If you want to find me—I’ll be at the local rock climbing gym, searching for the funkiest saxophone, or drinking a coffee, watching the river flow on my favorite rock.

People have been sharing their unusual stories with me my whole life. I’m extremely non-judgemental, which lends to my trustworthiness. In middle school, a friend told me they loved the taste of their boogers and in high school, a classmate shared their sexual secret of masturbating to a dolphin. Of course, I affirmed their preference- dolphins are damn ethereal after all.

I live with an invisible condition. Because of this, I’ve taken accidental steps toward grasping how little we know about someone’s internal world. How important it is to be kind and empathetic of things we can’t fully understand, and how to gently help people open up and share their experiences.

I have had an eclectic range of experiences.

I volunteered to be painted naked in Times Square.

I talked dirty to my ex’s dog via Instagram.

I interviewed a Hasidic, polyamorous sword-fighter.

I introduced two women with sneeze fetishes.

I’ve been paid for a conference with copious amounts of sex toys (which caused a bit of a scene when they opened my bag at airport security).

And, I even did a “scene” with Bruce Willis.

Why sex?

The goal of my work is to use scientific research, practical instruction, and a bit of humor to guide people into developing their skills to have healthier and more satisfying romantic and sexual relationships.

I’m a freelance educator. I’ve done lectures at conferences, schools, continuing education programs, sex expos, sex-positive communities, and even Morticians (they were in surprisingly good spirits). I have facilitated numerous training sessions on a range of topics—consent, dirty talk, polyamory, sexual communication, vulva pleasure, and supporting survivors of sexual violence. Plus, I host a monthly sex trivia night in Brooklyn!

I genuinely believe everyone deserves to have connected, orgasmic earth-shattering sex. Life is meant to be pleasurable, fantastical, and fulfilling. Every person has a unique background and history that has led them to the person they are today—it’s my responsibility to expand your curiosity and increase your sexual awareness.

Do you need a professional sex coach to talk about sexuality in an article, on a podcast, or in a video?
